FGIC Releases Matched System for P3015

Los Angeles, CA – Future Graphics Imaging Corporation, the world’s leading distributor of high-quality Comprehensive System Solutions for remanufacturers, announces the release of a superior matched system for the HP P3015 remanufactured cartridge.

Released in the fall of 2009, the 42 ppm P3015 replaced the P3005 series while utilizing the same basic engine technology. Aspects of the cartridge architecture, however, are slightly different. For example, the OPC for the P3015 has a similar drive gear element to the P2055, but the two are not interchangeable.

Only six months after the OEM release, FGIC is offering a specially designed MK Imaging toner that shows exceptional ID, lower backgrounding and better toner consumption lower than the OEM.

The new MK Imaging toner for P3015 remanufactured cartridges is available for both the standard (CE255A) and high yield (CE255X) cartridges.

FGIC has also developed a lightweight, easy to use tool (patent pending) that quickly removes the OEM drum drive element and easily reinstalls it onto the MK Imaging drum while preventing damage.

Las Vegas, NV – Future Graphics Imaging Corporation, the global leader in quality aftermarket supplies, demonstrated its industry-leading color solutions at the Recharger Magazine World Expo at Mandalay Bay.

Future Graphics’ Will Niederstadt gave a seminar on the differences between conventional and chemical color toner and Craig Rummler and Gerrardo Martinez (Spanish) taught classes entitled “Building Color Quality” that detailed the methodology of building the best color cartridge from core selection to the testing process.

At the FGIC booth, engineers performed hourly demonstrations of solutions for the most critical HP color engines, including the recently released CP3525/CM3530(TM) and CP2025/CM2320(TM). The demonstrations included the latest patent-pending fixtures for sealing and jigs for the proper gapping of doctor blades, an often overlooked step in providing consistent color quality.

FGIC engineers also demonstrated a patent-pending tool for removing the drum drive gear element from the P2055 OEM OPC and a patent-pending universal mag press for HP 4200 series, HP 4015, HP 5200, HP 8000/8100/WX, and HP 9000.

FGIC Releases Comprehensive System Solution(TM) for HP P2035/P2055

Los Angeles, CA – FGIC is pleased to announce a first-to-market release of a Comprehensive System Solution(TM) for the HP P2035/2055.

This 'comprehensive solution' for a critical release, which is one of three released in just two days, includes a specially designed low-melt toner and a co-engineered OPC, chip and wiper blade.

Because the OEM has a swivel element on its OPC drive gear axle, FGIC also developed a specialized tool (patent pending) to remove and reuse this element with ease.

The HP P2055 is a low-cost 35ppm SOHO printer that replaces the P2015. The P2035 is even lower-priced ($199) 30ppm SOHO printer that replaces the P2014/1160.

For over twenty years, Robert Goldstein and Lionel Brown have been key figures in helping build a tiny cottage industry into the global, multi-billion dollar enterprise that it is today.

Replacements for the 1012 series, the P1005(TM)/P1006(TM), P1505(TM) and M1522(TM) monochrome desktop printers are the lowest-priced SOHO channel laser printers ever released by HP. At just over 4 cents per page, the OEM consumables represent the highest ever cost-per-page for an HP(R) monochrome printer, which translates as great profit opportunities for remanufacturers.

LOS ANGELES -- Future Graphics introduced and demonstrated a great variety of patent-pending remanufacturing fixtures, tools and conversion hoppers at Recharger magazine’s 2007 World Expo at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Engineers and technicians from FG provided live, in-depth, practical demonstrations as they revealed the latest Comprehensive Systems Solutions(TM) from the FG Research and Development Center.

The demonstrations included an industry-leading remanufacturing system for HP(R) 2600(TM) color cartridges. This complete, effective solution consists of a drum-cutting tool and securing fixture (HP2600WHHOLD) which allows safe and easy removal of the OPC without damaging the waste hopper.

There was also a toner hopper drill hole guide and custom hole saw (HP2600THHOLD) that avoids damage to the toner cartridge interior ribs or sweeper blade. This same, cost effective fixture also ensures proper alignment of the doctor blade every time. As demonstrated, when used properly, the complete system reduces the risk of cartridge damage to zero for increased profitability.

“We had a lot of interest from the remanufacturing public. The kiosks where our Comprehensive Systems Solutions(TM) were being demonstrated were busy throughout the whole show,” said Fred McIntosh, Senior Vice President of Technology, Future Graphics.

Also presented was a combination of fixture and tools for remanufacturing HP(R) 4700(TM) color cartridges (HP4700SEALCSS). The eleven patent applications include a great variety of innovative solutions for today’s most profitable engines, including a complete system for remanufacturing the HP(R)2600(TM) color cartridges. Simply harvest the OEM empty for the key components – mag roller, doctor blade, etc. – and install them into the FG pre-built, generic toner section complete with seals, a fill hole – no drilling required – and the pre-built waste hopper. The resulting remanufactured cartridge is a single SKU until a new chip is installed designating the cartridge’s final model. Presently, these systems are for converting the HP(R)2400(TM) cartridge into a P3005(TM) cartridge or vice-versa and converting the HP(R)1160(TM) or 1320(TM) cartridge into an HP(R)1160(TM) cartridge.

Other innovative patent filings for color engines include a drum pin removal tool (DRPINTOOL2) for remanufacturing a wide variety of HP(R) toner cartridges, including the HP(R)3000(TM) series and HP(R)4700(TM) family. This is an easy to use device that allows remanufacturers to save time and increase productivity by quickly removing and installing cartridge drum spring pins with consistently correct alignment.

Always at the forefront of research for emerging entry-level players, Future Graphics has developed a drill hole fixture (CLP300FIXCSS) for the Samsung(R) CLP300 (TM). This fixture and custom hole saw provides a time-saving, easy to use system for quick refilling of the toner cartridges without damaging its interior mechanisms.

Additional patent filings include a universal drum rotating tool (UTURNDRUMTOOL) that allows quick, easy, controlled rotation of all HP(R) color drums without touching the drum surface; a toner fusibility and adhesion testing system that allows FG engineers to precisely measure the quality of OEM and aftermarket toners and a Cartridge Pin Replacement for the Xerox(R) Phaser(TM). The custom pin provides an easy to use replacement without a security head for remanufacturing the Xerox(R) Phaser(TM) 4500/5400 (TM) cartridges.

Future Graphics Presents at REBRASIL 2007

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL -- Manny Matamoros, Director of International Sales, Future Graphics, and Gerardo Martinez, Project Engineer, Future Graphics, combined forces to deliver a powerful marketing and remanufacturing one-two punch at ReBrasil 2007 from June 20th to June 22nd in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The inaugural expo was organized by the prominent Brazilian distributors and members of ABRECI (Brazilian Remanufacturers Association) in an effort to encourage unity and promote industry awareness of the Brazilian market.

ReBrasil boasted a strong line-up of technical workshops highlighting new technologies, as well as commercial presentations providing global industry insight and its impact on this emerging market. The standing-room-only attendance at each of the sessions was a good indication of their popularity.

On Wednesday, June 20th Mr. Matamoros presented ‘Global Trends and Opportunities,’ outlining the emerging trends across all sales channels, and predicting a positive future for the remanufacturing industry. On Thursday, June 21st, he followed up with ‘Proliferation of Laser MFPs,’ describing the push for these machines to replace some ink jet installations and even to enter the traditionally copier-based enterprise channel.

Gerardo Martinez conducted three technical workshops on the HP2600, HP3600/3800, and the Lexmark X644, giving the audience the opportunity to witness first-hand many of the powerful solutions that FG has developed as part of its Comprehensive Systems Solutions(TM) program.

Future Graphics has invested heavily in color testing equipment. One powerful new addition is a 7’x7’ walk-in environmental chamber, which greatly diversifies color testing criteria by reproducing specific atmospheric conditions and extremes that replicate the type of problems seen in the real world, such as wiper blade flipping.

To apply a high level of analytics to the sometimes subjective world of color print quality, FG has installed Image Expert software and equipment. The Image Expert has a 2400 dpi scanner, enabling precise measurement of density, background, and measurement of color values.

For highly accurate fusibility readings in newer, higher-speed machines employing variable melt points and polyester toners, Future Graphics has purchased a Sutherland rub tester. SAN ANTONIO, TX —At Recharger Magazine’s Review 2007 Summit in February, in San Antonio, Texas, Future Graphics presented encouraging news for our industry in a seminar focused on the new channels and opportunities that laser-based Multi-Function Printers (MFPs) present.

Speaking to 80 representatives of some our industry’s most notable companies and trade publications, Luke Goldberg, Senior Vice President, Future Graphics, delivered a powerful message about the trend in MFPs and their positive implications for the R & R industry. Entitled “Laser-Based MFP Proliferation: New Channels and Opportunities for the Remanufacturing Industry,” Luke detailed all the key products and their anticipated demand, as well as trends in monochrome and color and the players to watch. Mr. Goldberg also reviewed OEM offerings across the distribution matrix and analyzed the channels of sales and distribution.

“As I stated in my presentation,” said Mr. Goldberg, “one very interesting aspect of the MFP proliferation is that HP is attempting to wrestle market share from Xerox in the Enterprise channel. This allows traditional copier offerings to be replaced by laser-based consumables which would obviously be very positive for our industry.”

“The seminars and presenters at ReView 2007 were nothing short of first rate,” said Phyllis Gurgevich, publisher of Recharger. “From new market opportunities to new technologies, ReView offered a wealth of information that attendees will be able to take back and put into practice.”

Across all channels, MFP growth was significant in 2006. According to Lyra, monochrome MFP shipments were up 8.6% and color MPF shipments were up 38.1%. Since MFPs are laser printerbased, the remanufacturing industry will have an immediate opportunity for sales and service. Consumables consumption will also be higher due to the broad MFP capabilities and increased usage of color.
